About us

My name is Wat and I live here with Chabaa, my wife. We are a young couple who have a dream of seeking an alternative way of life as we do not believe in the modern mainstream life style under consumerism which forces us to work too hard for the sake of a lot of money to become wealthy and indulge in natural resources extravagantly for greater happiness.

In this regard, we decided to leave the urban life for the rural area. We have bought 7 acres of land at Pa-La-U (about 1 hour from Hua Hin) for experimental simple living. We believe that living simple and close to nature allows us to gain peace within.

We also have a dream that this land can become a place of retreat for people to understand themselves and others. In doing this they will cultivate the seed of peace within to share with other people so together we can change the world..

We will learn together to know and understand each other through daily work in a garden while exposed ourselves to sunlight, rain and trees, which encourage us to open our heart and harmonize with nature.

We are also interested in organic farming, suitable technology for life, holistic healthcare, local wisdom, and religious and spiritual aspects.

We would like to have friends who are interested in experimental living, working and learning together.

General Information

Did you ever think about living in a big garden? About finding what you see naturally growing around on your plate every meal? And about having a bath in a pictorial stream you hear whispering nearby in the background of the sounds of birds and nature? This is what you can experience here!

You will stay in a clean Thai style bamboo hut in a tranquil setting without separate electricity (so please bring a pocket lamp) and use a shared toilet.

Together with us you will have healthy, nutritious and mostly vegetarian food, sometimes seafood or fish, mainly prepared with vegetables from our organic garden.

During your restful stay you can have your own retreat while do some reading or connect to nature or share our simple, but joyful life and learn a lot about natural farming and the use of ancient wisdoms about nature we try to preserve. Moreover you can join different courses like cooking, waeving or Thai massage (for further information click here).

By staying with us, you’ll have the opportunity to gain a deep insight into the Thai culture as you also get in contact with the local people not as a tourist but as welcomed guest.

With the charge of 350 Baht per day for food and accommodation you help us to continue our project and to share with others what we experience together.

Please contact us before you are coming as we only accommodate 2-3 people to keep a familiar atmosphere.

* On our farm we don’t accept to drink alcohol and to use drugs

Vegetarian Cooking - Weaving - Thai Massage

Vegetarian Cooking Course

Cooking is not basically something you do by applying a recipe to a defined amount of certain ingredients. It’s more an art based on the knowledge of tastes and their combination and a good portion of what you like.

In this cooking course you will learn to easily prepare delicious and vegetarian healthy food from ingredients we gather in our organic farmed garden and the nature around together or we buy together on the local market, where you will experience the large variety of Thai food and ingredients and the local peoples daily life. The dishes are mostly as simple as tasteful, as we do not use MSG or any other artificially produced supplements, but concentrate on the own characteristic natural taste of every ingredient, like oily taste from coconut, sesame or peanut etc., hot taste from chilli, ginger or pepper etc., sour taste from lime, tamarind etc., some good smell from lemon grass etc. and primarily salt and sugar to define all their natural flavor, you probably never experienced in such a simple but nevertheless very tasty way.

Although you probably don’t find all of the here used ingredients at home when you cook for your family and friends, you will be able to prepare characteristic Thai food as you get not only familiar with our local vegetables etc., but also with basic Thai  tastes and how to create them. For example we prepare various kinds of curries, chili pastes, soups, other typical warm and cold dishes and traditional deserts.

But this cooking course will not only focus on how to prepare Thai food, but also on improving your skills to create nice dishes by simple means.

Charge: 150 Baht per meal (usually including 2-3 dishes)

Weaving Course

In this course you will learn the traditional weaving technique of the Karen people, a hill tribe in Thailand. This technique is straightforward and easy to learn. It uses the minimum amount of tools which can be moved around easily.

The items that we weave include bags, shirts and sarongs (skirt), all made to follow the Karen style.

This basic course will teach you how to use the tools, how to weave and how to sew the garment together at the end.

Each product takes about 7 – 12 days to make depending on how hard you work, how quickly you can weave and your handwork ability. The product that takes the least time to make is a bag.

* Weaving is a handwork that needs a lot patience as the weaved product grows slowly thread by thread.

Charge: 200 Baht per day (including tools and material)
